Piemonte

This region is located in the north of Italy bordering Switzerland and France and his name suggests, “Piedmont” is a mountain land. Piemonte not only is surrounded by Alps but also welcomes the highest peaks and the largest glaciers in Italy. Here there are some of the most popular and appreciate Ski resorts such as “the Milky Way” and “Sestriere”, which welcome winter sports enthusiasts thanks to their modern equipment. Another wonder of Piemonte is the stunning views of the mountains, from the perspective of Mount Viso or Monte Rosa. Among the large and picturesque valleys we have Val di Susa, Valsesia and Val d’Ossola. Different but equally remarkable is the view of the Langhe and Monferrato: a succession of hills covered with vineyards, dotted with villages and castles. Lake Maggiore, Stresa and the Borromeo islands, are lovely places in which you can find ancient villas surrounded by English gardens. In Piemonte nature is the main attraction but you can also find mundane life in Turin – the Italian car capital – and other cities. To relax we recommend Acqui Terme and Vinadio, historic health spa towns that ensure optimal care and wellness treatments. The provinces are: Turin (the capital), Alessandria, Asti, Biella, Cuneo, Novara, Verbano Cusio Ossola, Vercelli.

Things To See

Among nature and landscapes, Piemonte offers sports and recreation at the same time. Here it is possible to see the artistic heritage of the place switch between the sports and nature. Sestriere and the Val di Susa offer the steepest slopes or cross country, slopes on the ice for skating or snowboarding or even climbing or rafting giving all sports lovers the magic touch for a vacation like no other . But that is not all: during the summer, between the landscapes, you can make hiking from Via Alpina to the paths that lead to the shelters like Monviso or Verbania. The open air activities are still many: from what can offer the Lake Maggiore to the routes that follow the Po. Piemonte is a land of excellence for the viticulture; from Monferrato to the Langhe, from Astigiano to the Colli Tortonesi: the numerous wine trails lead to charming landscapes with several stops at farms and wineries to taste the wines and local products, such as scented Alba truffle. Here always rests relaxation at Acqui Terme surrounded by the roman aqueduct that offers ideas of wellness. Even events that offers this beautiful region are not to lose. We remember the Book Fair and the famous chocolate festival named “Ciccolatò” that take place every year in Turin, but also the local festivals and the carnival.
