This region is located in the north of Italy bordering Switzerland and France and his name suggests, “Piedmont” is a mountain land. Piemonte not only is surrounded by Alps but also welcomes the highest peaks and the largest glaciers in Italy. Here there are some of the most popular and appreciate Ski resorts such as “the Milky Way” and “Sestriere”, which welcome winter sports enthusiasts thanks to their modern equipment. What to Taste

Here are masters are the fondue and bagna cauda: sauces that enhance the use of the truffle of Alba and that of raw vegetables. Piemonte offers many specilities, from the meat as civet, to the brasato al Barolo wine or cheese like the tome, robiole or bruss Langhe or gorgonzola of Novara. All this accompanied by the typical sweets like chocolates (impossible to forget are the delicious pralines produced with hazelnuts of the Langhe and Monferrato), the biscuits of Novara, the bicciolani of Vercelli, in Casale the “scabs”, in Cuneo and the cunneesi with rum and the marron glacè, Alba nougat, lady’s kisses from Alessandria and Asti, and finally the amaretti of Novi. Piemonte produces some of the finest Italian red wines: Barolo, Barbaresco, Gattinara, Ghemme, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Grignolino, Barbera, Dolcetto.
